Visit to The Western India Plywoods Ltd, Valapattanam Karivellur: On 22 January 2025, psychology students visited The Western India Plywoods Ltd, Valapattanam, as part of their industrial visit. The students observed the exact working of a plywood factory and the efficient management of a large-scale industrial plant. Assistant Manager Majeed provided a detailed and informative session on the manufacturing process, covering every step from raw material procurement to the production of finished plywood. He also elaborated on the strategies the organization employs to maintain high efficiency while prioritizing worker satisfaction and well-being. HR Manager Ashraf conducted a brief session where he touched upon the importance of considering the mental health of employees in a large industry. He outlined initiatives such as maintaining a positive work environment. Assistant Professor Ajitha Rakesh accompanied the group, ensuring a fruitful and educational visit. Students Unnikrishnan, Hridya Bhaskaran, Fathima, and Farhana actively participated in the visit, gaining valuable insights into industrial operations, workplace management, and the role of mental health in organizational success.
