Visit to *Sneha Veedu*(12/11/2025 )
Sneha Veedu is an institution dedicated to the care and development of differently-abled children. The visit began with an orientation by Mr. Ratheesh V, Public Relations Officer, who explained the institution’s mission and its interdisciplinary approach combining psychotherapy, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy. Founder member Ambalathara Kunjikrishnan, shared some endosulfan victims painful experiences.
We observed special educators working with children through individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to their specific needs. Behaviour therapists Rejiya Sherin and Riza explained the importance of integrating multiple therapies to support emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Coordinator Muneesa Ma’am, herself a survivor of endosulfan exposure, also shared her inspiring story.
The visit was truly touching and thought-provoking. The psychology department team was led by Assistant Professor Ajitha Rakesh, along with Fida, Rishana, Ashwathi, Gopika, Geethu, Navya, Karthika, Abhinav, and Mammad.
